Social Bite is a sandwich shop with a difference. Every day we provide free food to over 150 people from the homeless community in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. We work to end people’s isolation and exclusion by helping them overcome barriers.

We are looking for a special someone to run our Coffee Shop in Edinburgh. Social Bite Edinburgh is right in the heart of the city making this a great opportunity for an enthusiastic people focussed manager to join us and keep providing incredible customer service to both our paying and free food customers.

You will come with experience in managing a small but complex team where no one day can be the same, ideally in a coffee shop a desire to join our collaborative movement to end homelessness.

You will have autonomy over the day to day running of our coffee shop with all the responsibility that comes with that. You will be one of a small network of coffee shops who support each other.

We need you to be:

• An inspiring leader with great ideas
• A people person who loves to see your team develop and also can have the tough conversations
• Customer focussed with an eye for detail
• Good with numbers – stock control, financial reporting, temperature checks the lot!
• Passionate with a drive to see your coffee shop succeed
• A great communicator who works well with both coffee shop teams and volunteers

We would like you to have experience:

• As manager of a similar operation
• Developing and leading a team with varying needs
• In all aspects of retail Food service including merchandising, sales and kitchen preparation
• In H&S in a Food environment
• In retail food controls i.e. stock, costs, scheduling, banking
