70+ run to end homelessness at EMF 2026
“I really admire what Social Bite do. I think it’s brilliant.
In terms of training, the fact that no route out of my village is flat has been a surprise (and not a pleasant one!). I’ve also been surprised with how people who have already sponsored me have stayed really engaged with how I’m getting on. Asking how it’s going and keeping me motivated. It’s been really encouraging.
It’s the first time I’ve run this far…or anywhere NEAR this far so I’m a little nervous, but looking forward to it.”
After training on all those hills, we know you’ve got this - good luck Helen!
“Having an event really focuses me and gets me out the door. During the build up to this one, I’ve been hit by how much extra (free) energy you get from the support of others. It’s been lovely to see how much excitement and enthusiasm Felix gets from seeing people donating to his efforts too.
Homelessness isn’t inevitable. It’s solvable - with the right support. Social Bite is that support, but they need our support with fundraising.
Felix may be running just 1km - but he’s already asking big questions about fairness and kindness. Taking part together feels like a small way to show him that when something matters, you do something about it.”
We completely agree, and what an amazing way to show you care by challenging yourself and while raising funds! Thank you so much Ross and Felix.
“I have always wanted to help people find a place to stay.
I find the training can be quite lonely especially when you are doing a long run, but I always focus on what I am doing it for. I genuinely feel overwhelmed with peoples’ kindness towards my fundraising.
I’m looking forward to meeting with other Social Bite runners and crossing the finishing line!”
We'll be there to cheering you on Annie, and we can't wait! Good luck!
“I'm running in the Kids 1.5km to raise money for homeless people because there are too many people homeless.
Thank you Bella for all your hard work and support - your fundraising is going to make a huge difference.
“I have first heard of Social Bite when I went for a coffee with a friend at the Rose Street branch. I have taken part in various fundraising events, including the sleep outs in Princes Street Gardens. Social Bite does amazing work- not just providing meals, but also accommodation, work and training opportunities for homeless people.
I have had a challenging year with both, my physical and mental health and wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone. I am feeling a bit anxious about running however I am also super excited to turn up on the day and try my best!”
We're excited too Kate, and we're cheering you on all the way!
“On the toughest days, it reminds me that the challenge is temporary, but the impact can be lasting.
I cannot wait to run along Portobello promenade and hear the cheers - especially from the Social Bite support crew.
Beyond the support I cannot wait to cross the finish line knowing all the training paid off. Marathons are hard - I will be on the course for a long time - its a great feeling when its finished!”
Crossing the finish line will feel incredible, thank you for your support Michael!
We cannot wait to cheer on every single one of our runners this weekend at the Edinburgh marathon Festival. A HUGE thank you to each and every one - your fundraising will make such a big impact.
